Sparticus’ Disappointment

Well, I had to break the news to Sparticus. His wife spent the weekend with the junior bucks and now she is off limits for a few weeks until we find out if “anything happened”.

Today is breeding day at the Funny Bunny Farm. Eclipse and Feather will visit today; and Princess Rose and Potion will enjoy a conjugal visit in about a week. Pedigreed English Angora babies or kits should be available by mid March.

To reserve your bunny, email me at yarntospin@yahoo.com

Sibblings!

In the world of bunnies, you can sometimes see a family resemblance, and sometimes…. not!  Of course as a breeder, I love the variety of colors that we can get in a litter.  Princess Rose’s litter is a good example of that.  We have 2 white, 2 chocolate, 2 agouti, and a black.  But take a look at these two sibblings.  Born to the same litter.  I call them brothers, though I don’t yet know their gender.  They just remind me of a big and little brother.  Sorry for the picture quality.  These little ones are so fast it is very difficult to point and shoot before they hop away.

Baby Angora Bunny Update

French Angora Kits

French Angora Kits

My daughter read one of my updates and was wondering how we could have bunnies coming out of our ears.  Well, though it is an interesting mental picture, it is not entirely true.  We do have quite a few bunnies right now and soon they will be looking for homes.  My goal was to have a nice selection for the Northern Michigan Lamb and Wool Festival in September, and we will!

For those interested here is the update on the 3 litters.

Pearl is a French Angora and gave birth to a litter of 4 on June 14.  All are doing well and are eatting everything they can get.  Very healthy and lovely buns.  3 white and one broken fawn.  Not yet sexed.  They look like they will be weaned and ready to go by August 2.

Princess Rose gave birth on July 7th to a litter of 9 English Angoras.  We lost one, but have 8 lovely babies in a wide variety of colors.  I see some Torte or Agouti, Black, White and maybe some Blue or Lilac.  They should be ready by the first of September.

Then Feather had a litter of 3 English Angora kits on July 9th.  Feather is a rare Blue Eyed White and was bred to Eclipse, who also carries the Blue Eyed gene.  She has 2 black and 1 white kit.  We have to wait for the eyes to open, but she should have a BEW.  They will also be ready to go by early Septemeber.

If you have any interest in reserving a kit, please email me with your request.   All buns come with pedigree.
